Chattanooga State C.C. Allied Health
This new building at the entrance to the Chattanooga State Community College is 105,000 SF of classroom space, lecture halls, offices, laboratories, and various medical training suites. The architectural design was a joint venture with TWH Architects and Artech Design.
The mechanical design of the building features an open geothermal well system serving a heat exchanger in the building, maintaining water temperatures in the building to the WSHP’s. A cooling tower and boiler provide redundancy. High efficiency lighting controls and day-lighting are used throughout the building. Outside air is managed based on occupancy through variable flow demand control ventilation and energy is recovered from all building exhaust air.
Thanks to TWH Architects for the exterior photographs of the building.
